Capella University - Was"Auto enrolled" in a class and before i knew, too late to drop
Took online classes for a PhD from 2010-**** and spent $20k in classes. While working on my academic plan early on apparently i was "auto-enrolled" for classes but didn't know it.
After each course I always registered for the next course but it turns out this auto-enrollment registered me automatically. Well i changed jobs and lost my tuition re-reimbursement so i was gonna take a term off, however unwittingly i was "Auto enrolled" long before and registered for the next class and was NEVER notified that i was in a class until 10 days after it started from the instructor. When I tried to drop the course I was told it was too late and i owed the full tuition balance of over $2k. After disputing this many times, Capella refused to budge and as a result i have never gone back to their school.
There are stupid for not working with me because i have gone on to spend 20 times that amount at another school. Now they have gone to collection agency and its the only negative on my credit report.
I have been looking to join a class action for such abuses of policy and scamming students. I have even contacted and filed a compliant AG of Minnesota.
Reason of review: Return, Exchange or Cancellation Policy.
Monetary Loss: $4137.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
Capella University Pros: Instructors.
Capella University Cons: Auto enrollment policy.

I believe I may have been auto enrolled as well. I owe 9k and was told by the school when trying to go back 7 years later I still owe 1k to them.
Iโm going to call a lawyer they are taking 180 out of my check each week. This feels unfair and wrong
